Economics is part of the state standards. How can
you teach it in a way that goes beyond having your students memorize
definitions?
This workshop is designed to make teaching and learning economics
exciting and rewarding. This curriculum
- Builds on the world in which children in elementary school live
- Integrates economics into math, language arts and literature, so you can use your days more efficiently
- Is activity-based, so your students learn by doing
- Uses discussion, reading and writing to further clarify economics concepts
- Provides additional suggestions for reinforcement with other subject areas and children's literature, family activities, newspapers and community involvement
Teaching economics is NOT HARD! This curriculum guide will help
you do so in a way that will be fun for your students and you.
Workshop presented by the Center for Economic Education, University
of Memphis. Curriculum is provided.
